Durham Taxi started with two drivers and a diary. Twelve years on, we're still doing the same job the same way — just for a lot more of the North East.
Durham Taxi was founded in 2014 by two former Durham cabbies who were tired of surge pricing, no-shows and drivers who needed satnav to find the Bailey. The idea was simple: hire local, price honestly, and turn up on time — every time.
What began as a two-car operation working the station and the colleges has grown into a fleet of more than forty licensed vehicles covering Durham City, the wider county and five regional airports. We're still independently owned, still based here, and still answer the phone ourselves.
